Photovoltaic systems are subject to the rules of the market: Rising demand results in an increase in mass production capacities. This leads to the price per module being significantly lowered, so that photovoltaic systems keep becoming more competitive as compared to fossil energies.
Also, the profitability of solar systems is rising because of their efficiency becoming higher. In just a few years, experts are expecting what they are calling “grid parity”, i.e. equality of the costs of solar electricity and the end customer's cost when purchasing electricity.
