Panasonic improves frame for photovoltaic module HIT® N330

12.06.2018

Ottobrunn, June 12, 2018. In order to continuously increase the quality of its high-performance HIT® modules, Panasonic is focusing on improvements in detail. The frame of the HIT® N330 (also available with 325W) solar module is now being strengthened from 35 millimeters to 40 millimeters, so that it can withstand wind and snow loads up to 5400 Pa. "Instead of reducing the frame thickness to save costs, we are making the frame thicker and leaving the price the same," says Daniel Roca, Senior Manager Business Development at Panasonic Eco Solutions Europe.
The HIT® N330/N325 solar module (VBHN330SJ53/ VBHN325SJ53) is the most powerful module in the HIT® series from Panasonic with an output of 330W and a module efficiency of 19.7%. With a length of less than 160 cm, it also has more output power than a 60 cell standard solar module of similar size (265 watts).
Due to the now reinforced module frame, the mechanical load capacity for high snow and wind / suction loads significantly increases compared to the previously guaranteed load capacity of 2,400 Pa.
Added to this are other benefits for operators. All HIT® modules still contain Panasonic's water drainage system at the corners of the frame, which ensures reliable water drainage on the module glass. This improves the self-cleaning of the modules. Furthermore, the long-term performance increases due to the reduced pollution and accumulation of dust. The HIT® N330 module is also officially released for mounting the mounting brackets on the shorter sides.
The black module HIT® Kuro, which has been available since June, is also manufactured with the 40 mm thick frame and the special water drain. "This shows that Panasonic is consistently continuing the quality strategy for its high-performance modules," comments Daniel Roca.
Since 1 June 2018, the 25-year linear guarantee with 86.2% guaranteed performance after 25 years has also been valid for the HIT® N330 module. The regular product guarantee of 15 years can be extended to 25 years by registering on www.eu-solar.panasonic.net free of charge.
