Ottobrunn, June 19, 2018. Panasonic, manufacturer of high-performance solar modules HIT®, and Enphase Energy (NASDAQ:ENPH), a global technology company and the world’s leading supplier of solar microinverters, announce their cooperation in Europe. This will start with the introduction of Enphase Energy's new Enphase IQ 7X microinverter into the German and Austrian photovoltaic market later this year. Panasonic will be present at Enphase Energy's booth (B3.120) at Intersolar Europe / The Smarter E from June 20-22, 2018 in Munich with its HIT® photovoltaic modules.
"Together, we want to promote the combination of our HIT® high-performance modules and the new Enphase IQ 7X module inverter," says Daniel Roca, Senior Business Development Manager at Panasonic Eco Solutions Europe, explaining the cooperation's goal. It is the more powerful version of Enphase's new IQ 7 microinverter family, especially suited for 96-cell modules. This will make the Panasonic HIT® solar modules N325 / 330 with white and the new N320 / 325 KURO with black back sheet "Enphase-ready".
For the US market, Panasonic and Enphase Energy announced already announced at the beginning of this year, that they are developing an AC module together, a photovoltaic module which has a small AC inverter mounted onto its back side which produces AC power with no external DC connector.
"With this combination of our 96-cell module and the microinverters for the European market, two guarantors for higher-than-average solar yields join forces to maximise customer satisfaction," says Roca. "This solution could be of particular interest for the new-build sector. Panasonic is also a trusted end-consumer brand for efficient climate and security solutions, and the photovoltaic module comes with a 25 year product and output guarantee. Enphase offers 20 years of product guarantee. The combination of Panasonic and Enphase enables customers for easy planning, logistics and installation, and even a straighforward system extension later on", he adds.
The HIT® N330 solar module, the most powerful module in the HIT® series from Panasonic, achieves one of the highest efficiencies in the product class of crystalline solar modules at 19.7%. This is due to the low temperature coefficient of only -0.258%/°C, as well as the excellent low-light behavior resulting from the combination of crystalline and amorphous layers in the HIT® solar cells.
On the other hand, the Enphase IQ 7X microinverter, according to the manufacturer, achieves the highest level of efficiency in the field of power electronics at the module level and is characterized by a very simple and safe plug-and-play installation. In the installation, each module gets such a microinverter. This adjusts the voltage so that the solar module is operated in the respective maximum power point (MPP). This is useful, for example, in photovoltaic systems that consist of differently oriented or shaded subfields.
Experts from Panasonic will be on site at Intersolar Europe from 20 to 22 June 2018 in Munich at the Enphase Energy booth in Hall B3, Stand 120.
